We asked Look See organisers Carl Morgan and Lara Schubert to tell us more about the exhibtion:

The aim of Look Hear and Look See is to promote design culture in Newcastle by entertaining and informing people interested in art and design. Another function is to create a platform for developing artists and designers to get noticed for their skills.

Look See will showcase a range of pieces that have been contributed from professional artists, designers and illustrators all over Australia. We also held open submissions and chose the best works to be exhibited alongside these.

Most of the submissions we received were from Newcastle artists, designers and photographers so it will be great to see some of our local talent on show beside the work of some of the industry’s most successful designers, artists and illustrators.

Covering a broad range of themes and disciplines such as graphic design, illustration, art, photography, architecture and much more, the Look Hear and Look See events are for anyone interested in creativity.

We’ve met and spoken to so many innovative and inspiring people who have made their projects successful and we wanted to get involved in what is becoming Newcastle’s new creative movement.

The space where Look See will take place was originally a restaurant and has been designed to cater for a large crowd so it is a perfect space for an exhibition. The space also has a few smaller rooms to explore which will help to create a fantastic flow for the exhibited works.
