Who are you? DRIFT BIKES MEDIA operated by Josh Stephenson & Robbie McNaughton

What do you do? Co-owners of a Newcastle bike shop that heavily utilises digital media to grow the sport and the biking community. Our use of digital media has spanned in-house development of our own promotional materials, videos, organisation of community events, and use of social media. Our office has the responsibility for all digital media production, marketing and social media management, video production, videography, editing, photography, and development of social media content.   What inspired you to get involved in Renew Newcastle? Renew Newcastle has given us the opportunity to make the most of our digital media potential by providing us with an appropriate creative environment, exposure to like minded creative individuals, more direct contact with biking commuters and access to appropriate stakeholder meeting places.

What are you doing in your new space? Our space is set up as a quiet creative area for visual media delivery along with a comfortable meeting space for associates to discuss and plan up coming social riding events and promotions. Tell us about the space – what was its previous use? Anything unique about it? Your response to the space?

The space used to be used by an architectural group. It is well lit during the day and is in close proximity to the hive of creative spaces which is evolving in the mall thanks to Renew Newcastle. It offers easy access as well as keeping us in touch with Newcastle City and its changing culture.
