Tim’s creative works as an editorial stylist have a common mantra of ’shop local’ – aiming to profile the best in homewares, food, lifestyle and fashion from Australia’s Hunter Region. Tim Neve is also the publisher of local titles ‘The Junction’ and ‘Darby’ – the definitive bi-monthly shopping guides to Newcastle’s fashion hubs, both launched in Summer 2008/09.
What inspired you to get involved in Renew Newcastle?
As a passionate supporter of inner-city Newcastle, ‘Renew’ is the best idea I’d heard in a long time. Add to this the fact that it’s actually happening - not just being talked about for a decade, and it’s really exciting. Already the CBD streetscape is alive with activity, and the cultural vibe of Newcastle is being warmly embraced.
What are you doing in your new space?
Styling, shooting and publishing for local and national established magazine titles, as well as creating my own independent publications.
Tell us about the space…
The Clinic is a former optometrist clinic in Newcastle’s CBD that now houses young design-based businesses. The maze of ‘patient’ rooms have been divided into separate offices and are each being given a new lease of life by their new occupants. We are all excited to be working in an environment with like-minded creative people.
