Who are you?

We come from diverse and amazing local, national and international places to study in Newcastle and share our projects with the local community.

What do you do?
For the third year running, this is an exhibition of student design projects (posters, models, digital projections) produced by first year architecture students enrolled in the Master of Architecture at the  University of Newcastle. Live crits and assessments of the assignment work will occur during gallery opening hours.

What are you using the Project Space for?
For the third year running, this is an exhibition of student design projects (posters, models, digital projections) produced by first year architecture students enrolled in the Master of Architecture at the  University of Newcastle. Live crits and assessments of the assignment work will occur during gallery opening hours.

The 2016 semester involved two assessment items and design project phases, both sited in Carrington: otherwise known as ‘The Island’. The first phase was a group project involving site analysis, proposed urban design interventions and the selection of a site for project two. Phase two was an individual design project involving the design of a multi-rise, mixed use ‘micro-housing’ work-live complex for local artisans, such as those who participate in the Renew Newcastle scheme.

Are you having an opening?
Yes, there will be an event on 11th June from 5.30pm – 7.30pm to celebrate the conclusion of the final critique and assessment the work produced in this the first semester of the Master of Architecture. Please come along!
