Tarese has moved to Sydney for work/design opportunities. Currently, working from her home but looking to find a suitable space in Sydney that she can design out of. Tarese is “…incredibly grateful for my time in Newcastle and for my time with Renew Newcastle. I love that Renew utilises unused spaces and gives up-and-coming creatives the opportunity to have a space or shopfront for their art. For me, the opportunity to have a designated workspace to create was invaluable, it allowed me the opportunity to create so many things I may not have otherwise been able to, and to meet many other amazing artists and creatives. I will always be grateful for the opportunity Renew Newcastle gave me and for their support and belief in my work.”
Who are you?
I am an Australian-based couture designer. I design one off and made to measure outfits.
Tarese Klemens began in 2013 when a redheaded 22-year-old stumbled across designing as a creative outlet. From nature to fabrics, the places and people that she drew inspiration from were far and wide. From those beginnings, in between moments of inspiration, she realised the importance of valuing a woman’s inner beauty and wanted to create pieces that captured that. The desire to create pieces with a point of difference in a timeless, feminine and elegant style is the driving force behind Tarese Klemens.
What do you do?
Tarese Klemens is an exclusive Australian couture label, offering one-off pieces and limited edition lines in luxurious fabrics. Enchanting and feminine, Tarese Klemens designs brings the soft and whimsical to life for the woman who loves to wear something a little different.
What inspired you to get involved in Renew Newcastle?
I heard about Renew Newcastle a couple of times, but it wasn’t the right timing. I heard about Renew Newcastle again through someone who was already in a Renew space. They encouraged me to apply when applications opened, so I did. Before I knew it, I was in a Renew space!
What are you doing in your new space?
I am using my space primarily to sew and design. It’s my working area where I make and create my designs.
