about Olive & Co
UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2013 Olive & Co will continue to maintain their focus with the The Olive Tree Market at The Junction Public School on the first Saturday of every month. For market reminders, like their Facebook Page.
UPDATE AUGUST 2013 The Emporium, the site where Olive & Co has been located, has temporarily moved out of the former David Jones site to enable the owner to complete some building works on the ground floor.
We are looking forward to moving back into the space under a new configuration. We are still drawing up some plans, but we expect that there will be a similar number of boutique RN shops and galleries, and we expect to re-open again in a couple of months. You can sign up to the RN e-news (top right of page) to find out when the new space will re-open.
Olive & Co is the next incarnation for the creator of The Olive Tree Market, Justine Gaudry, and the collective of talented artists, designers and makers that make up The Olive Tree Market community.
The Olive Tree Market has been the leading contemporary art & design market for Newcastle & The Hunter for almost 5 years and its now time for the next step: a dedicated curated hub for new and exciting work from the collective that you won’t see at the market!
The space will evolve and change over time with different stallholders work featured. There will be new work created specifically for the space as well as many items that can be found at The Olive Tree Market.
Think larger scale works, more gallery focus, revolving exhibitions, mini gallery spaces within the larger space & Olive Tree themed work only available at Olive & Co. An exciting and new endeavour reflecting the current reinvention of the city centre – bold, contemporary and community based.
The concept for Olive & Co was inspired people who have expressed that they would like to be able to view and purchase our artisans work between markets.
