What are you doing in your space?
We are starting The Share Shop – A Library of Things.
How much of your house is full of items that you don’t need? How many times have you bought something to use only once? Yup, us too. That’s exactly why we created The Share Shop – A Library of Things. It’s a way to help you spend less on things you don’t need, to reduce waste and stop useful things ending up as landfill.
It’s just like a normal library but instead of books and CDs, it’s a collection of all sorts of things that you can borrow. Instead of buying something new and using it once, borrow it instead.
Borrowing from the Share Shop is as easy as becoming a member. Simply complete the Membership Agreement and bring it in, along with two forms of ID. Once a member you can borrow any item from the library, for a period of 7 days. While membership and borrowing is completely free, we invite you to make a small, completely voluntary donation to contribute to maintenance of items and running costs.
Let us know if you are after something that we don’t currently have and we can add it to the Wishlist.
How can you get involved?
The Share Shop is a community resource. For it to be sustainable, we invite you to make a donation. All money goes towards maintaining the items and other running costs.
We’d love it if you have useful, good quality items to share with our community. Either drop it off when you are in store, or contact us to arrange another time . Please be aware that we can only accept items that are in working condition.
Join in the fun! If you’d like to donate your time, we’d love to have you.
There are a number of ways to volunteer as part of the community:
-Volunteer a regular shift to help out in the Share Shop
-Repair donated items
-Conduct skill sharing workshops for our members
-Spread the word!
