about Newcastle Fashion Week 15-18 Sep 2010

Newcastle Fashion Week is returning in 2010 to transform the city of steel into the city of style. Runway shows are taking place at The Store on Hunter Street and NFW will be where derelict becomes designer, rundown becomes runway, industrial becomes innovation… are you ready to forget everything you know about fashion?!

Newcastle Fashion Week is organised by a storm of creative and dedicated young people, and Renew Newcastle is pleased to support their operations again in 2010. We have arranged access to a temporary pre-event production office for the event administration, volunteer briefings, collection drop-off point, model fittings and organising the fashion.

The site isn’t open for public visits, but the runway shows and other special events will take place in a variety of locations across the city:

Friday 10th September • NFW/Hunter Street Outlet Summer Style Session “Pop-Up” Event • 12noon-1pm • Thorn Street, Hunter Street Outlets • Free event • Supported by Hunter Street Outlets, The Herald, Scion, Evolve Make Up, Wade Ambler, The Kitchen on Darby

Friday 10th September • NFW Cocktail Club “Pop-UP” in collaboration with The Kitchen on Darby. • 5pm-7pm • Darby Street, Newcastle. • Meet other Fashionistas at the Launch of The Kitchen’s Cocktail Club, supported by NFW.

Sunday 12th September • NFW Official Launch • 2pm-4pm • Greater Union Cinemas, King Street Newcastle • Official launch with special guests Hnr John and Cathy Tate, Jodi McKay MP. • Derelict Becomes Designer exclusive runway show • Tickets $20 • Supported by Hunter Street Outlets, Greater Union Cinemas, The Kitchen on Darby, Evolve Make Up, Wade Ambler
