Surfhouse Photography is the retail outlet for Alexandra Thompson’s surf photography. Before Alex came along and got into the space as through Renew Newcastle it was formerly a chocolate shop and a jeweller. It now features a wall long mural created from one of Alex’s photographs.

“I found Renew Newcastle an ideal way to have a retail outlet for my business, which i may not have been able to have any other way,” says Alex. “ I am really enjoying being in the space, and having the chance to further my business.”

October 2009 Update: Alex has moved out of her shop in the Hunter St Mall. She is currently scouting out new locations and developing her business skills. December 2009 Update: Alex from Surfhouse Photography moved out of her Renew Newcastle shopfront in October, but has now taken a commercial lease and is opening up a new shop just down the road. Congratulations Alex! Her new premises is at 61 Hunter St, (btwn Bolton & Watt Sts, opposite The Lock-Up).
