In the beginning we were four Visual Communication students looking for a space for our end of year exhibition. Our group has grown into collective which includes designers, artists, photographers and architects.
What do you do?
We collaborate on visual projects. We share our ideas, skills and knowledge.
What inspired you to get involved in Renew Newcastle?
We needed a space to display our work and partake in collaborative projects. After seeing the success of previous Renew Newcastle spaces we decided to get on board.
What are you doing in your new space?
Over the course of two weeks the project will occupy a space where exhibitors will be given the opportunity to work on individual projects as well as contribute to large scale installation pieces. The project space will also be open to the public and invited industry members for collaboration, advice and guidance, adding to the momentum of emerging individuals and a growing creative community.
Tell us about the space – what was its previous use?
The space was recently used for the This Is Not Art festival as the “China Arts Hub”. The space is big and has lots of potential for creative projects.
Before that is was a Community centre and originally it was a Chinese Restaurant. It still has a tiny Karaoke stage and dancefloor.

Opening Hours:
The project will run for two weeks, from Monday 16 – Monday 30 November. We will be working in the space most days from 9am to 5pm.
We stay open late on Thursday 19 & Thursday 26 – until 8pm.
Closing night party on the First Friday of the Month – Friday 4 December – 5 – 8pm – You’re invited!\
