‘Mastering Mortality’ at Curve Gallery
‘Mastering Mortality’ is Gavin Vitullo’s first solo exhibition and is an insightful look into the mind of an artist who questions one’s place within the environment through a multi-disciplinary practice that includes printmaking, sculpture and drawing.

‘Conditions and Speculations’ at The Project Space
A live design critique and exhibition of proposals for living and working in Carrington by students of the first year Master of Architecture program at University of Newcastle.

‘A Farewell to Arms’ at Curve Gallery
The first solo exhibition in Newcastle by Newcastle Emerging Art Prize Winner (Painting, 2014) John Moroney. Revealing universal truths with evocative painting & sculpture that analyse & de-construct familial relationships, describing themes of love, fertility, death and rebirth.

‘Under The Dreaming’ at Nanshe Gallery
‘Under The Dreaming’ is a body of work by Naomi Wild that explores aspects of the artists psyche, archetypes and animal totems in an Australian context. A combination of plant-dyed natural fibres, handmade paints from local ochres and coal, free machining and linocut print work.
When: 24 June – 18 July

Naomi Wild Studio presents The Art of Wellbeing.
Naomi Wild, artist and transpersonal art therapist, provides workshop participants the chance to conduct creative practises that focus on enhancing wellbeing and self care. Exploring a range of symbology, archetypes, dreamwork, visualisation and meditative practices, empowerment and stress management.

Natural History Drawing with Observatorium Studio
Join Chris Rockley and ecologist Lauren Vanderwyk for a day of hands on discovery and unveiling all the workings that underpin great wildlife drawings. You will be given an opportunity to handle, sketch from and gather enough reference images or footage to inspire years of future artwork.

‘Women of Heritage’ by EarthlyInk
‘Women of Heritage’ is an art project that focuses on the feminine context within and beyond family structure, explored with culturally diverse women residing in the Newcastle/Hunter region. Currently the project has engaged with 20 women who have each participated in a plaster face mould workshop, resulting in the masks being decorated, representative of their cultural stories and identities and later utilised in an installation. More women are sought to have face masks created.
