Occupying a great place - Renew Newcastle (Arts Hub Australia) [31.10.2010]
Just two year’s ago the once vibrant Newcastle’s Hunter Street Mall was a pretty shabby place, vandalised, empty boarded-up shopfronts, dying. It was depressing and leaving idle what was once valuable property. The turn around since however, thanks to the opportunities given to entrepreneurial artists by Renew Newcastle and GPT Group has been described as nothing short of a ‘miraculous’.
